As you navigate your academic journey you'll start charting a new destination: your career!
You're asking the big questions right now: Will I have a good career if I take this path? How do I grow the networks that will get me connected to my first great opportunities? How do I create a professional portfolio with that Wow Factor?

Awards and other recognitions
There are many student awards and funding opportunities available to SCARP students. Awards and other funding sources are made available through SCARP, UBC's Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (G+PS), professional planning boards, other UBC departments, and more.

Celebrate yourself
Winning these recognitions is a big deal! It doesn’t just confer you funding and other perks, but celebrations of your achievement by the award-giving institution and by UBC SCARP. You could also achieve more accomplishments and stories of your adventures as a SCARP student.
These accomplishments are your story. And in this day and age, your story is your professional portfolio! Your ability to tell your story (whether networking, updating your LinkedIn, or designing a promotional website) is one of your first steps into a bigger world.
You can co-write celebrations of your accomplishments and adventures at UBC SCARP and have a news piece about you written by this prestigious university to put in your professional portfolio and celebrate with your friends family and community!
This could be you!
Take a look at just a few celebrations of our students:
