Some recent SCARP student research projects
Added to the planning conversation
One of the proudest parts of submitting the culmination of one’s studies is to add it to the greater library of knowledge, at the UBC level and the worldwide discipline of planning.
UBC Library’s digital repository, cIRcle, hosts a wealth of theses from our PhD and Research Masters students, as well as many of our MCRP graduates’ final projects.
The UBC collection promotes open and comprehensive access to a significant body of unique knowledge created by graduate students to support further research and for private study. The authors retain copyright ownership and moral rights to their theses. The content of theses may not be re-purposed or exploited for commercial gain without the explicit permission of the authors.
MCRP Studio Presentations
During SCARP’s Planning Studio, student teams from our MCRP program partner with community, municipal, and private-sector organisations to identify problems and propose feasible solutions. The Planning Studio represents the culmination of the knowledge and expertise MCRP students have learned during their program, and their potential for innovative solutions as professional planners.
The Planning Studio represents dozens of times SCARP students have personally served the larger community of British Columbia with their learned expertise and innovative ideas.
Vanier Scholars
The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships program aims to attract and retain world-class doctoral students, by supporting students who demonstrate academic excellence, research potential, and leadership in social sciences and humanities, natural sciences and engineering, or health.
We're proud to celebrate our PhD students who, throughout the years, have been recognised as Vanier Scholars.
