December 2, 2024
As November 2024 drew to a close, the chill and rain halted as this fall's SCARP graduating class celebrated their many achievements so far.
Throughout their time as SCARP students, their many partnerships (in projects, Planning Student Association events, and community-building endeavours) have forged fierce friendships visible on their faces as they stood before the University and as they walked onward together.
Now, as we love to say, they enter a new phase of their time with SCARP: not an ending, but a new phase. As graduates and alumni, with the feather in their cap of a dual-accredited Masters but also with evergreen roots here at UBC's School of Community and Regional Planning, our graduates begin an even more exciting chapter of their SCARP story.
To these tireless, endlessly hopeful planners, let us just say this: your wisdom and energy are needed in the greater world, not just for today's extraordinary challenges, but, more importantly, for the new insights and transformations you will bring to tomorrow.

Some achievements by these graduating students (so far!)
One of my overarching professional goals is to contribute positively to the field of planning by expanding our horizons on what is possible to create a more sustainable, equitable, and resilient communities. I am very thankful for the opportunities I have had at UBC to conduct and publish research that supports this goal, and for the opportunity to be involved in PIBC’s Strategic Planning process. I am also thankful to my peers, who have supported my ideas to enrich students’ education, professional development, and social life.
