Radhika is a licensed architect from India with a passion for shaping cities that are not just functional but thriving. With a mix of hands-on experience and research in architecture and urban planning, she's made it her mission to tackle urban challenges head-on. Her goal is to spark fresh ideas, policies, and practices that make cities more sustainable, resilient, and people-friendly.

In April this year, alongside fellow students Lynne Kim, Gia-An Trinh, and Kripa Thomas, Radhika released her MCRP Planning Studio project to their community partner (The City of Kelowna), "Rutland Reimagined: A Pathway to a Complete Community".

"I was lucky to present alongside Keisha Maloney, Afia Zubair Raja, Monique Beaudry, and Phil Bradshaw and to reflect on the diverse ways we are addressing climate challenges in BC, from cooling solutions and sustainable transportation to vulnerability assessments and Indigenous perspectives on land. I learned a lot, not only from my fellow presenters but also from the thoughtful questions and discussions with wonderful planning professionals in the room!"

"I am deeply grateful to the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Planning Student Trust Fund for selecting me as the recipient of this award. It truly means a lot to be recognized by such a respected and important planning organization. I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the School of Community and Regional Planning (SCARP) at UBC for their nomination and continuous support throughout my journey. Being part of the SCARP community has shaped me in profound ways, and this award feels like a meaningful culmination of that experience."

Congrats Radhika! We can't wait to see what's next for you.
