Christina is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, working with Dr. Martino Tran in the Urban Predictive Analytics Lab on the Virtual Infrastructure Systems Simulation (VISION) project. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Regensburg in Germany, a Master’s in Quantitative Finance from the Vienna University of Economics and Business in Austria, and a PhD in Geophysics from the University of British Columbia. She has also held roles in data science consulting, asset management, private banking, and mobility research in England, Switzerland, Latvia, and Norway, as well as in resilience and food security for development cooperation in Madagascar.
Trained as a climate scientist, mathematician, and data scientist, Christina aims to advance sustainable and equitable socio-ecological systems through modern quantitative approaches. Christina’s current research contributes to the Virtual Infrastructure Systems Simulation (VISION) project, a system-of-systems modelling framework designed to predict future infrastructure service demand and needs across Canada, accounting for diverse and vulnerable population groups, multiple spatial and temporal scales, and different climate scenarios.
