Aaron is a strategic planner, consultant and facilitator with a track record of delivering innovative projects in government, and for consulting clients in academic, non-profit, and public service fields.
At the City of Vancouver, Aaron has developed culturally-informed approaches to engagement with the Chinatown community, convened an unprecedented inter-departmental policy process for Vancouver's city-wide plan, and managed a first-of-its-kind team doing outreach to ethnocultural communities during the COVID emergency response.
Aaron most recently worked in the City’s Equity Office as an Equity Consultant, advising staff and leading organizational change. He joined SCARP in 2022 as an Adjunct Professor to design and teach PLAN 507: Engagement and Facilitation for Planners.
Aaron’s research at SCARP examined how policy-makers can better use visuals communicate complex information - these findings are published in a guide for planners called 'Planning Visually' 'Planning Visually'. He also wrote a report on principles for Musqueam-UBC collaboration that has guided university staff and students to better working relationships with the First Nation.
In all of his roles, Aaron is focused on advancing equity and changing the way we do planning to work better for communities.
