Clare Mochrie specializes in community and strategic planning, stakeholder engagement and project management. As Principal of a successful, Vancouver-based consultancy for over 15 years, Clare has had the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in a range of sectors. Having worked with various levels of government, she has a strong understanding of how provincial, federal and municipal governments operate, how decisions are made and influenced - and how policies are developed. She has worked with communities and First Nations throughout BC to develop strategies around economic development, housing and sustainability.
She has also worked with the Province and several health authorities on various health care planning processes, policy change initiatives and population health reports. As Director of a multi-national corporation, Clare has led stakeholder and government relations for a world scale climate change project. She has also facilitated strategic planning processes with non-profit boards and member organizations in the IT sector such as BCNet and WestGrid.
For the past eight years, Clare has served on the Board of Directors for Atria Women’s Resource Society, a not-profit organization based in the Lower Mainland which provides housing, direct services and supports to women and children affected by violence. She is passionate about work that helps to foster more equitable, healthy and sustainable communities.
In her free time, she can be found roaming the woods with her two children or running the trails of the Vancouver North Shore. Clare holds a Master of Arts degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of British Columbia and Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University.
