Bill Buholzer

Bill Buholzer is a member of the College of Fellows of the Canadian Institute of Planners, the American Planning Association, the Canadian Bar Association and the International Municipal Lawyers' Association, and associate counsel at the Vancouver law firm Young, Anderson, specializing in local government law. He is a graduate of the U.B.C. School of Community and Regional Planning (class of 1973) and the Faculty of Law (1990). His legal practice focuses on land use planning and the management of development in British Columbia. Bill is the author of British Columbia Planning Law and Practice, a practice manual in extensive use by B.C. planning practitioners and lawyers, and the Planning and Zoning title in Halsbury's Laws of Canada, a comprehensive legal encyclopaedia. Bill has also authored a book on the Community Charter, British Columbia's general enabling legislation for local government, and writes frequently for Planning West, the periodical of the Planning Institute of B.C., and for the Digest of Municipal and Planning Law. He is an Associate Member of Continuing Studies at Simon Fraser University, where he lectures in the City Program.
