About
The Planning Institute of British Columbia (PIBC) represents professional networking opportunities for our students, and for alumni also represents an avenue for becoming a Registered Professional Planner (RPP). Their Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) System helps its members maintain professional standards and the latest planning-related knowledge and skills. Whether you're a student seeking knowledge and future networks or a member actively earning CPL credits, official PIBC events represent an invaluable avenue into the greater world of planning.
Climate Change and Well-being:
Building Resilience through Social Connectedness
BC Healthy Communities Society
Climate change has had an immediate and personal impact on our health. Evidence suggests that a changing climate leads to increased stress and anxiety due to the occurrence of extreme weather events, displacement from homes and economic disruption. Climate anxiety is a rapidly growing issue, especially for youth.
In this webinar, join SFU Assistant Professor Dr. Kiffer Card, a behavioural epidemiologist, social ecologist, and health services researcher, as he examines how socio-ecological forces relate to mental health, stigmatized behaviour and health inequalities. Joining Dr. Card will be Naomi Fleshhut (Sechelt) and Jay Myers (Daajing Giids) who have used PlanH grants to address mental health issues in their communities.
