The Department of Geography & Planning in the Faculty of Arts & Science at the University of Toronto (St. George campus) invites applications for a one-year Contractually Limited Term Appointment (CLTA) at the rank of Assistant Professor in Social Planning with an expected start date of July 1, 2022.
Candidates must have earned a PhD degree in Planning or cognate discipline with a research focus in social planning, community development, and planning theory or a related area by the time of appointment, or shortly thereafter, with a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests complement and enhance our existing departmental strengths and the mission of the planning program. The successful candidate will be able to teach and conduct research within a community of diverse scholars and students. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue innovative and independent research at the highest international level and to establish and outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program.
Candidates must provide evidence of research excellence which can be demonstrated by a record of publications in top-ranked and field relevant journals or forthcoming publications meeting high international standards, the submitted research statement, presentations at significant conferences, awards and accolades, and strong endorsements from referees of high standing.
Evidence of excellence in teaching will be provided through teaching accomplishments, the teaching dossier (with required materials outlined below) submitted as part of the application, as well as strong letters of reference.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
