SAPL Launches International Design Competition: CBDX: BORDERLANDS

Dear CBDX Community,

The School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape (SAPL) has launched a second international design ideas competition: CBDX: BORDERLANDS.

Borders, whether spaces of transition, political, natural or man made, are associated with civilization’s greatest challenges. This competition invites participants to choose any type of border, define a friction that presents a programmatic opportunity, and propose a design that positively impacts the agents affected by or in proximity to that border.

CBDX:BORDERLANDS offers $6000 in prizes and the submissions deadline is June 21, 2021.

The international Jury will announce the winning entries on September 8, 2021.

The members of the Jury are:

Luis Callejas (Oslo, Norway)
Danika Cooper (UC Berkeley),
Rania Ghosn (MIT)
Niall Kirkwood (Harvard)
Clare Lyster (Chicago, Illinois)
Dima Rachid (Beirut, Lebanon)
Lola Sheppard (Waterloo, Canada)
Alberto de Salvatierra (Calgary, Canada).

For competition updates, follow @cbdxseries on Instagram.

The CBDX Series is made possible through the support of Stantec, a global design and delivery firm, and organized, in part, by the Center for Civilization.
