Continuous Professional Learning Events with the New Brunswick Association of Planners

I am a member of the New Brunswick Association of Planners (NBAP) and found your contact information on the website for the Professional Standards Board for the Planning Profession in Canada.

The NBAP hosts continuous professional learning (CPL) events for its members 4-5 times a year with the goal of providing interesting and relevant opportunities for professional development. Due to COVID19, many of our events are now available online. A benefit to this change is that the events are easily accessible to those well beyond New Brunswick’s borders. We thought that we might take this opportunity to engage with planning staff and students across Canada.

I am writing to explore if you would be interested and willing in being added to the distribution list for NBAP CPL events and in sharing information on the events with the staff and students of your planning program.

Our events to date have addressed such topics as skills for hosting difficult meetings as planners as well as the introduction of development charges, and our upcoming events will look at housing needs assessments as well as climate change. Sessions cover broad content applicable across Canada as well as content specific to New Brunswick. As a result, they enable participants to gain knowledge relevant to their own provinces as well as learn more about planning experiences in New Brunswick and Atlantic Canada.

Many of our events are free; however, we would be more than happy to explore waiving costs for students who are interested in joining events with registration fees.

Please find attached a poster for our upcoming 1-hr webinar on housing needs assessments. The event will take place on Thu, 28 Jan 2020 and is free for all.

We look forward to connecting with you. Please don’t hesitate to follow up with any questions.

Thank you!
