City of Vancouver looking for SCARP volunteers

Broadway Planning Team is seeking volunteer note-takers for three stakeholder workshops!

The City of Vancouver is launching a two-year process to create a comprehensive Broadway area plan. The 30-year plan will focus on opportunities to integrate new housing, jobs, and amenities around the Broadway Subway. The Broadway Planning Team is looking for volunteers to help document conversations at these events.

As part of the initial engagement process, the City will be hosting a series of three workshops and inviting key stakeholders to envision the future of transportation along Broadway. Topics of conversation include: how we might plan for walking and cycling connections, what is the future of public transit, and where there are opportunities for inclusive, pedestrian-focused public spaces.

The workshops will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on July 4th, 2019.

Want to get involved in local planning processes? Meet your local Planners on-the-job? Interested in flexing your engagement muscles? Consider getting involved.

If you’re interested in lending a hand at the workshops, contact Timothy Douglas at Timothy.douglas@vancouver.ca no later than Friday, June 14th. In the email, let us know your preference for one (or all!) of the workshops and any relevant experiences you might have. Don’t worry if this is you have little experience in engagement; this will be a wonderful learning opportunity as well. Dinner and swag will be provided for all volunteers.
