Seeking new Student Representative on the Development Permit Board

I am contacting you to ask for your assistance in identifying candidates for the volunteer position of Student Representative on the UBC Development Permit Board. The Development Permit Board has the responsibility for reviewing and approving Development Permits for non-institutional (neighbourhood) development projects at UBC.

We would be grateful if you could let students in your respective programs know that we are currently seeking a student to fill this vacancy. Candidates are to be students enrolled in planning, urban design, architecture, or landscape architecture at UBC Vancouver campus and available for a minimum of one calendar year from June May 2019 to May 2020. We also reach out to the AMS and advertise on-line and in the Ubyssey. If students have any questions about the position, I would be happy to talk to them. The Board’s Terms of Reference and Student Selection Protocol are attached.

If you know of any students that may be interested, we would appreciate it very much if you would encourage them to apply by submitting a resume and a cover letter/email indicating their interest in the position to Steven Lecocq at UBC Campus and Community Planning (see Ubyssey ad attached). We would like to receive the applications by Monday, March 19, 2019 and will conduct short interviews to select a candidate by the end of March.

Your help is much appreciated.
