Now is the time to register for this great opportunity to connect with students, professionals, and academics from across Canada! 

The conference will provide undergraduate and graduate students from across Canada the opportunity to learn about emerging planning issues and ideas from planning professionals, academic researchers, and decision-makers. Over the conference weekend, attendees will partake in field trips around Edmonton and attend various presentations and panels covering planning topics from diverse perspectives.

Featured Speakers:

Dr. Karen Lee, MD, MHSc, FRCPC
Dr. Karen Lee recently joined the Division of Preventive Medicine in the University of Alberta’s Department of Medicine. Trained in Medicine at the University of Alberta, and having completed a Masters of Health Science and a residency in Public Health and Preventive Medicine at the University of Toronto, Dr. Lee has worked with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the Epidemic Intelligence Service and the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, as Deputy to the Assistant Commissioner of Chronic Disease Prevention and Control, Inaugural Director of Healthy Built Environments, and Senior Advisor of Built Environment, Active Living and Healthy Housing during Mayor Bloomberg’s administration. 


Soumya Ghosh MBA, PMP
Soumya Ghosh is the Director, Digital Enablement with the City of Edmonton's Open City and Technology Branch. Soumya leads the business technology innovation portfolio with initiatives such as Smart City and Open City. He is responsible for managing the award-winning open data program and developing the smart city strategy and proposal for the Infrastructure Canada’s Smart Cities Challenge. His latest project involves improving the health of Edmontonians through the use of data and smart technology.
