### About SCARP Postdoctoral Fellows

##### Postdoctoral Fellows (sometimes called post-docs) are those who, after completing a doctoral degree, seek further training in a particular area of research.

As valued members of the SCARP community, post-docs make an indispensable contribution to the research environment of the School, the University, and their chosen field.

Post-docs work under the general supervision of a faculty member and may assist with the supervision of graduate students.

**First Steps**

Becoming a post-doc starts with a faculty supervisor. If you don’t already have a working relationship with a member of SCARP’s faculty, you can search our [faculty directory](https://scarp.ubc.ca/faculty), filtering by research interests that align with your own research vision.

You can contact faculty members directly to apply or discuss the prospect of taking you on.
