Norm Shearing received his undergraduate degree from SFU and continued his education completing a degree from UBC’s school of architecture. Since 1985, Norm has been involved in some of Vancouver’s largest real estate developments, most notably the planning and redevelopment of the Expo Lands and, along with Michael Geller, the Coal Harbour Bayshore property. In 2000 he accepted a position as Director of Planning and Development with the Grand Bahama Development Company, where he took on the responsibility of planning and developing a large resort property, as well as a 400-acre mixed-use residential community for low income Bahamians. Norm returned to Vancouver to join ParkLane Homes as VP of Development responsible for the high-profile redevelopment of a former lumber mill site located along a mile of the Fraser River in Vancouver. Now named River District the mixed use community will be home to over 13,000 residents and include retail, parks, a school and shoreline walk. Earlier this year Norm accepted the position of President Dockside Green Limited. DGL is responsible for the ongoing development of the award winning Dockside Green community located in Victoria’s inner harbour.
