Lilian is passionate about affordable housing and creating more equitable, inclusive and healthy communities. She is the Director of Community Real Estate at Brightside Community Homes Foundation, a not-for-profit housing provider with a mission to build resilient communities, throughout Vancouver, with safe and secure homes for those struggling to meet the demands of market housing. Lilian leads the organization's strategic development of sustainable and affordable rental housing for seniors, families and people with disabilities.
Lilian is a Registered Professional Planner with almost 20 years of experience in municipal and community planning and public engagement and social purpose real estate development. She is a strong advocate for the not-for-profit, co-operative, Indigenous and community housing sectors and is especially interested in bringing diverse voices to the forefront and supporting a new generation of housing leaders, planners and change-makers. She currently volunteers as a Board Director for the Hiyám ta Sḵwxwú7mesh Housing Society with the Squamish Nation, a mentor with the Canadian Housing and Renewal Association, and a Planning Awards Jury Member with the Canadian Institute of Planners.
Lilian has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cultural Anthropology, and a Master of Arts from the School of Community and Regional Planning, both from the University of British Columbia.
