Aylin holds a Bachelor of Commerce from UBC Sauder School of Business in Marketing and Management Information Systems. Prior to joining SCARP, she worked in the advertising industry supporting local entrepreneurs in developing their brand Identity and marketing strategy. At the time, she also managed 3 of H&R Block busiest Tax offices in downtown Vancouver. In 2010, Aylin joined the Centre Community Engaged Learning at UBC and started her career in Higher Education. While supporting the Community Based Research & Experiential Learning projects at UBC, she worked closely with many Inner-City schools and Nonprofit organizations in the Lower Mainland. Her outreach work with the local NGOs and background in Business led her to run the UBC United Way fundraising campaign raising over $500k for two consecutive years. Currently Aylin is completing her Master's of Community and Regional planning with a focus on social planning at SCARP under the supervision of Prof. Nora Angeles. Her interest areas are equity planning, affordable housing and sustainable development.
