PLAN 211 Student Team Awarded 3rd Place at HUBBUB

Team ‘Alley RRRATs’ from PLAN 211 was awarded with 3rd place—among 19 other student groups from UBC, SFU, BCIT, Langara, and Emily Carr—at the 13th HUBBUB event on Friday December 6th 2019.

Held biannually at Vancouver City Hall, HUBBUB is organized by CityStudio Vancouver as a showcase event featuring student-created innovative solutions derived through coursework and in collaboration with the City of Vancouver.

Haida film wins at VIFF

Haida feature film, Edge of the Knife, won Best Canadian film and Best BC Film at the Vancouver Film Festival this month.

The brain child of Indigenous Community Planning Program's director, Dr. Leonie Sandercock, the film is garnering attention throughout Canada and the USA.

Jon Frantz, former SCARP masters student, produced the film.

Congratulations to Meryem Belkadi

Meryem Belkadi, PhD student in SCARP's Doctor of Philosophy in Planning Program, has now been awarded the uniquely prestigious Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship.

This award exists to attract (and keep!) "world-class doctoral students and establish Canada as a global centre of excellence in research and higher learning". It recognizes Academic Excellence, Research Potential, and Leadership in doctoral students.
