Design and Innovation Day, April 5th

UBC Applied Science is hosting its largest showcase of the year – Design and Innovation Day – on April 5, 2018 at the Vancouver Campus! The showcase will feature senior design and research projects across Engineering, Architecture and Landscape Architecture, Community and Regional Planning and Nursing.

MCRP sees first graduating class

On June 1 the first class to hold the degree: Master of Community and Regional Planning (MCRP) will graduate at UBC. Twenty-five MCRP students including 4 students from the Indigenous Community Planning specialization will walk across the Chan Centre stage. The class was first admitted to the department in September 2015.


Jordan Konyk, a master’s student in the School of Community and Regional Planning, and his two teammates — Narayan Gopinathan, a master’s student at the Institute for Resources, Environment and Sustainability, and Denby McDonnell, a master’s student in the School of Public Policy and Global Affairs — have won the UBC World’s Challenge Challenge.

Hosted by the UBC Global Lounge, the Challenge required six team finalists to present their unique solution to a global challenge of their choosing before a panel of judges (one of whom was CHBE and BME assistant professor Vikram Yadav).
