Nora Angeles: Aid Strategy should involve immigrant communities

Leonora C. Angeles, a faculty member at UBC’s School of Community and Regional Planning, calls for involving Canada’s immigrants in its aid program, as advisers, facilitators and knowledge translators.

“Immigrant communities can be vital partners in the aid process,” Angeles wrote in an op-ed in Embassy News. “They understand the culture of the country, they speak the language and they know how to navigate the local bureaucracies.”
