The Faculty of Applied Science welcomes all UBC students, faculty, staff and alumni to join in celebration as we kick off Black History Month! Enjoy a black history pop-up Pop Up Black History Month display in the Fred Kaiser Atrium which will include a presentation by Bashir Mohamed – a historian focused on Black Canadian history and EDI.I Coordinator in Applied Science. Bashir will give a talk focused on Black history in the applied sciences in an effort to build awareness around the history of our professions and how we may reconcile with the legacy of the past.
This is a hybrid event, in-person and online.
For those who can not join in-person, we will be streaming the presentation live on zoom.
