##### Bio

Julia's passion for environmental and human rights, along with her academic background in socology, land-use planning and conflict resolution have informed her decade-long career as an interdisciplinary artist and community organizer. Alongside her Ph.D, Julia works as a legal/communications strategist with West Coast Environmental Law, giving her a range of tools to examine intersectional climate impacts, and to indentify key pathways for advocacy, knowledge mobilization and policy-development.

##### Research

#### Coastal climate adaptation and Indigenous governance

Julia's PhD research student focuses on climate adaptation, Indigenous laws and water governance around the South Coast of British Columbia. As a scholar with the Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions (PICS) Living With Water project, her research investigates co-governance processes on local, climate adaptation projects; namely government-to-government flood-risk planning in high-risk - and jurisdictionally complex - coastal areas.

##### Scholarships

- President's Academic Excellence Initiative PhD Award (2021)
