# Charlotte Taylor [she/they](https://equity.ubc.ca/resources/gender-diversity/pronouns/) - Email: - Bio - Research ##### Bio Charlotte holds a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a thematic focus on climate change in media and a Master of Arts in Planning, both from the University of British Columbia. Her Master’s research examined the structural and institutional conditions shaping community-led renewable energy and identified social finance mechanisms that support equitable, context-appropriate projects. Her work is grounded in participatory methods for planning that centers community voice, accountability, and justice across energy and climate governance. She is currently a member of [PLACE lab](https://hollycaggiano.com/placelab/) (Planning for Climate Equity), which is led by SCARP Assistant Professor Holly Caggiano. ##### Research #### Community Priorities in Energy Planning and Global Indigenous Climate Governance Charlotte’s research focuses on strengthening participatory community engagement methods; identifying ways to incorporate local priorities in planning processes; and examining how the risks and benefits of community led renewable energy initiatives are distributed. Her doctoral work explores project outcomes of community energy plans through a case study of Ucluelet’s community engagement process for local energy planning.
